Karlene Karst, RD, is a leading health specialist in nutrition and natural medicine and considered to be an expert in selecting natural foods and wholesome nutrients to help heal the body. Growing up on the family farm in a community dedicated to supporting agriculture, Karlene is aware of the importance of wholesome living and of the toll our modern lifestyles and diets have taken on our health. Karlene is passionate about educating the public about everyday health issues that affect people’s quality of life. She provides the knowledge to enable them to help correct their health issues by incorporating cutting edge dietary, supplement advice and knowledge. Co-authoring the national best seller Healthy Fats for Life and The Metabolic Syndrome Program: How to Lose Weight, Beat Heart Disease, Stop Insulin Resistance and More, along with her newly released Belly Fat Breakthrough is part of Karlene’s efforts to encourage people to get “back to the basics” of nutrition to live a long, healthy life.

Career

Karlene holds a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and is a registered dietitian. Karlene is a highly sought-after, enthusiastic and passionate individual who is a frequent guest speaker at nutrition trade shows, and educational events around North America.

Karlene is currently the spokesperson and QVC expert for SafSlimÔ and can be seen regularly on this channel across the USA.

She is also a key-note lecturer for Schwabe North America for whom she educates hundreds of key account retail personnel and consumers throughout Canada and the United States.  Karlene has been interviewed and written for numerous well- respected magazines, radio and television shows in both Canada and the United States to help foster positive interest on effective uses of natural and complementary medicine. Karlene also serves on the editorial board for alive magazine, which is read by more than 500,000 Canadians each month.  Karlene’s most important accomplishment has been her role as mom to her two beautiful young boys, Luca and Matteo.  She currently resides in Vancouver, BC Canada with her husband and children where she enjoys outdoor activities, cooking and family-time.
