Without a doubt, Hawaii is my favourite place in the entire world. I feel incredibly connected to the magic of the islands, and find myself to heal, rest, recharge and nourish my body and soul, inside out when I spend time there. I have missed our trips to this special place over the past 2 years, and truly can’t wait to book our tickets. Even the kids want to make Hawaii our first trip when we can.

But, until then, we can make a delicious smoothie bowl that tastes like Hawaii! The blend of frozen banana, pineapple and coconut water will transport your tastebuds to this magical place. When making a smoothie bowl, the trick is to use frozen fruit or veg, and don’t add too much liquid to allow  it to maintain its thick consistency. When it reaches your desired texture (it should be thicker than you realize) you can pour it in a bowl and layer all your favourite toppings. Fresh fruit, coconut chips, nuts, and seeds all make a delicious topping for this bowl.

Ingredients –

Smoothie Bowl Base

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1 scoop plant based vanilla protein powder (My preference is Vanilla VegiDay)
  • 1 cup coconut water

Optional Toppings

  • 1 tbsp unsweetened coconut flakes
  • chia seeds
  • hemp seeds
  • mango

Directions –

  1. 01. Blend all of the ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth.
  2. 02. Pour into your favourite bowl and top with your toppings. Enjoy!
